A Typical Day at Fun Start Childcare Cannock

At Fun Start Childcare Cannock, every day is filled with fun, learning, and exciting opportunities for children to explore the world around them. Our daily routine is carefully planned to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and grow in confidence while developing important early skills.

A Warm Welcome to the Day

Our day begins with a friendly welcome as the children arrive at the setting. This gives them time to settle in, greet their friends, and explore the different play areas available. Whether it’s building with blocks, imaginative role play, or creative activities, the children are encouraged to follow their interests while being supported by our caring team.

Learning Through Play

Throughout the morning, the children take part in a range of activities designed to support their development through play. These might include arts and crafts, puzzles, sensory activities, small world play, and group games.

Learning through play is at the heart of everything we do at Fun Start Childcare. Our activities help children develop communication skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and independence in a fun and engaging way.

Outdoor Play and Exploration

Outdoor play is an important part of our day. Whenever possible, the children spend time outside enjoying fresh air and physical activity.

Our outdoor space gives children the chance to run, climb, explore, and take part in group games with their friends. Outdoor play supports physical development, coordination, teamwork, and confidence, while also giving children the opportunity to explore nature and the world around them.

Lunchtime, Phonics and Quiet Time

Lunchtime is a lovely opportunity for the children to sit together, enjoy their food, and practise important social skills such as conversation, sharing, and good manners.

After lunch, our rising 3’s and 4’s take part in a fun phonics session. Through songs, games, and interactive activities, the children begin to recognise sounds and letters, helping them develop early literacy skills that will support them as they prepare for school.

Younger children may enjoy a rest or quiet time after lunch, while others take part in calmer activities such as storytime, drawing, or puzzles.

Afternoon Activities and Home Time

In the afternoon, the children continue to take part in engaging activities including creative play, group games, and storytime. It’s also a great time for the children to share what they have enjoyed during the day and spend time playing with their friends before heading home.

At Fun Start Childcare Cannock, every day is designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence. We love watching the children learn, grow, and develop new skills while having lots of fun along the way.
