We are delighted to announce that our nursery has successfully achieved the NDNA Maths Championship Accreditation, recognising our commitment to providing high-quality early mathematics experiences for all children.
The NDNA Maths Championship supports early years settings to develop confident, skilled practitioners who embed mathematical thinking into everyday play and routines. Achieving this accreditation reflects the dedication of our team in creating a rich learning environment where children can explore numbers, patterns, shapes, measures, and problem-solving in meaningful and enjoyable ways.
Throughout the process, staff worked collaboratively to enhance mathematical opportunities across the nursery. This included:
- Embedding maths into daily routines such as snack time, outdoor play, and group activities.
- Supporting children to develop early number sense through play-based experiences.
- Encouraging mathematical language, reasoning, and curiosity
- Creating inviting environments that promote exploration and challenge.
Children have benefited from hands-on activities that help them make sense of the world around them — from counting and sorting to recognising patterns and solving simple problems during play. The accreditation also highlights our ongoing commitment to professional development. Our team reflected on practice, implemented improvements, and shared ideas to ensure every child is supported to develop confidence and enjoyment in early maths.
We are incredibly proud of this achievement and would like to thank our staff, children, and families for their continued support. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to inspire a love of learning — especially in early mathematics — across our nursery.
